| "Bangtao Beach"  Bang Tao is a sweeping 8 kilometre stretch of golden sands that offer unrivalled beauty. Indeed it is one of the islands longest beaches yet due to being largely undeveloped retains its place as one of the most beautiful.
Bang Tao is an excellent beach for sunbathing and also offers plentiful shade. Bang Tao offers excellent swimming conditions in the dry season with its calm waters and there is an abundance of exciting water sport activities on offer. The cooling coastal breezes attract windsurfing enthusiasts amongst others and Bang Tao has hosted many international competitions. The 'Siam World Cup Windsurfing Championship' is an extremely popular annual event held at Bang Tao.
There are several facets to Bang Tao beach. Located towards the Northern end is the five star luxury Laguna Resort complex. A playground for the rich and famous attracted by the beauty of Bang Tao means this area is highly sought after. Only a few minutes drive from Surin Park, Laguna offers world class facilities of many varieties such as the Banyan Tree Resort and the Sheraton Grande Laguna.
 Three world class golf courses - Blue Canyon (host of the Johnnie Walker Classic), Mission Hills and Banyan Tree are just a short drive from Surin Park.
In the centre of the beach is the village of Cherng Talay where many locals still ply their trades. A fabulous collection of traditional Thai eateries, open air markets and night bazaars gives off the feeling that you are still very much in Thailand.
At the very Northern part of the beach exists a smaller bay, almost completely enclosed, and which has some fine coral for snorkeling. Lovely walking trails, an abundance of wildlife and spectacular views of the bay make this a beautiful part of Bang Tao.
